Atmosphere and service were great. We enjoyed our dinks as well. Unfortunately, the only dish we tried - the raw oysters - was a big disappointment. Previous reviews had mentioned $2 oysters during happy hour, which we thought was from 5-7pm. Turns out that *drinks* happy hour is from 5-7pm, and *oyster* happy hour only starts after 7pm, and you have to order a full-priced drink to get the oyster happy hour deal ($3 raw oysters instead of $5). Regardless of the pricing scheme, we did not enjoy the oysters. Perhaps it's because they're warm water oysters, but they were unappetizingly large and weren't served particularly cold. We ordered six at $5 SGD a piece and only ate two.
The Secret Mermaid is a cosy speakeasy hidden in the basement of Ocean Financial Centre. They have an extensive selection of American craft spirits, and the bartenders are great at making customised cocktails. The vibe is intimate, perfect for a date or a quiet night out. It’s a bit tricky to find, but that adds to the charm of the place!
Best place for a pick me up b4 hitting home. I come to town for meetings to visit this place.
Smol space, big vibes. This literal hole in a wall of a cocktail bar is hidden in plain sight within the Raffles Place pedestrian mall under Ocean Financial Centre. Fusion food. Many makis on the menu. Didn’t know fried broccoli and tater tots (Napoleon Dynamite) could taste so bomb! It gets a little squeezy but that’s part of the vibe. Asiatique cocktails. The seasonal nori cocktail was briny and fresh. Like a gulp of seawater. If you like martinis you can try the Silk & Honey with a pecking of wild honeycomb. $50-$60/pax for 2 drinks + bites. Reservations necessary.
Used Secret Mermaid for cocktail delivery. Arrived within 2.5 hours of placing the order and really good service with personal email updates along the way
Had a blast at The Secret Mermaid for my friend's birthday! Tiny spot, under 20 seats, but the bartenders Kass and J were the best. Personalized cocktails, great service, and awesome vibes. If you want a unique cocktail bar experience, don’t give this a miss!🍹🎉
Cocktails were innovative but too funky for my taste. Service was friendly. The place is a little small so ventilation wasn't great. The whole place smells like karaage, went home smelling like fried food even though I didn't have any.
Great little secret hidden bar. Robert the bartender was lovely, friendly and funny. Cocktails were delicious and they have an impressive wall of different whiskey/bourbon amongst other alcohol. Cosy but nice atmosphere, right near the MRT.
Great service by D'Cruz. Nice touch with the card per drink and the gold detailing of the straw. It would make me come back just to collect all cards. Great layout and interesting covert corner. The food was good, the cocktails could be better. However, we enjoyed the nightcap. Unfortunately, towards the end of the night, when the small groups started talking louder, the sound bounced back uncomfortably now and then. Overall, 4/5.
The bestest little bar in the world! The bar team always makes fantastic drinks, sometime tells terrible jokes and generally ensures you have great night out. It’s my go to spot and definitely an off the beaten track recommendation for anyone visiting Singapore. Current fave drink on the menu is the martiniesque In The Morning Sun… it’s exquisite!
